Additional Information

The latest (and possibly final) feature of the Indiana Jones story premieres in theaters on June 30, so join us on Thursday, June 29 at 7pm for a screening of the 1981 Oscar winning action adventure blockbuster that started it all and made us fall in love with Archaeology, Raiders of the Lost Ark! Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film stars the indomitable Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, hired by the U.S. government in 1936 to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can obtain its awesome powers. See it once more on the big screen!

The Sturgis Cinema Circle seeks to engage audiences with the experience of seeing classic films on the big screen while enjoying an expanded understanding of the film’s cultural and historical significance through a featured post-show conversation hosted by the director of the Sturges-Young. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students, seniors and military, which are available by phone at (269) 651-8541 or walk-up sales prior to show date and at the door. Concessions available.

The year is 1936. After narrowly escaping a South American treasure hunt that results in an unfortunate encounter with hostile natives and an old rival, archeology professor Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) hears from museum curator Marcus Brody (Denholm Elliott) about a biblical artifact called The Ark of the Covenant, which may hold the key to human existence. Jones ventures to exotic regions of Nepal and Egypt to find clues to this artifact’s whereabouts. However, he will have to fight his enemy Rene Belloq (Paul Freeman) and a slew of Nazis in order to reach it.
