Uncle Drosselmeyer\, the children’s favorite relative\, arrives and presents Clara\, the heroine of the story\, with an amazing Nutcracker in the shape of a handsome soldier. To her brother\, Franz\, he gives a toy sword. \nThat night\, Clara is too excited to sleep. Clara saves the Nutcracker by throwing her slipper smack at the wicked mouse! Lo and behold\, her Nutcracker becomes a handsome Prince. \nTo show her gratitude\, the Nutcracker Prince whisks Clara away to many countries. First they travel through the exquisite Land of Snow where they are greeted by the regal Snow Queen and her Snowflake Fairies. Then they travel to the Land of Sweets\, where the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy puts on a glittering spectacle for them. Clara finds wings on her feet as she dances the Final Waltz with her Nutcracker Prince. \nAs the Sugar Plum Fairy and her court wave goodbye\, Clara’s Uncle Drosselmeyer mysteriously appears with the magical Nutcracker. It also encourages me to make more artwork. I really like to see the art other people have made\, too\, because it gives me ideas on what I can do and make in the future.”\n Lyza O.\n “When I was chosen for Partners in Art\, I was in second grade. I was so excited to be chosen to present my art. It helped me grow as an artist and expand the mediums I attempted to create with. To this day\, nearly 13 years later\, my family still has this picture hanging in our dining room.”\n Lauren W.\n “My experience with Partners in Art was quite positive. Seeing my artwork framed and in such nice lighting really let me see the beauty of art\, not just my own but others as well. I was glad I chose a larger piece that was able to stand out\, but also showcased my hard work and dedication. The process to participate was also very easy and stress free. All in all\, Partners in Art was a lovely experience.”\n Macy R. \nThe Partners In Art Program\, started in 1992\, allows students from Sturgis Area Schools to have their artwork displayed at local businesses throughout the school year. This program is designed to recognize outstanding young artists and heighten community awareness of our students’ artistic talents. This year we plan to invite students and their families\, businesses\, and teachers and school staff to the reception together. This will allow businesses to interact with the students\, and we feel it will build connections to help continue and grow this program. We have art demonstrations from Jane Kelley at Happy Stems Flower Stand\, and Stacey Richardson with various forms of art. \nA Special Thanks to Our Sponsor.\n \nSturgis Lodge #1381

Yes\, he is a stand-up comedian but\, if you’re reading this\, you assumed that. Did you know that he is also a father\, a husband\, a 6 time cannon ball champion\, AND a notary public? This is a guy with depth\, a guy with layers\, a guy who really hopes you’ll follow him; not in a culty way but on social media & such (@Zach.Martina). \nIt has been his irritations with the inane instances of life & love that have left him ranting and raving on stages across the world for over a decade. In that time\, Zach has been at stand up festivals such as 10\,000 Laughs\, Limestone and Gilda’s Laughfest where he was named one of the “Best of the Midwest”. He\, regularly\, shares the stage with some of his favorite comedians including Rory Scovel\, Chad Daniels\, the Sklar Brother and Big Jay Oakerson (among others) and he has released two comedy albums (Skunkman & Not the Worst Dad) that debuted at number one on the comedy charts and are\, routinely\, spun on SiriusXM. \nGet Ready for Friday Social Nights!  \nWe’re thrilled to announce our brand-new Social Nights\, happening on the select Fridays of every month!  The fun begins at 8 PM and keeps going strong until midnight. Each month\, we’ll mix things up with a rotating lineup of exciting \nFriday events\, including: \n🎤 Karaoke – Belt out your favorite tunes like a rockstar.😂 Featured Comedian – Enjoy a night of nonstop laughter with a top-notch comic.🧠 Trivia – Test your knowledge and compete for bragging rights! \nNo two Social Nights are the same\, so be sure to check our events calendar regularly for all the latest details.
