Executive Director

Executive Director Sheila Lynne Bolda has over 30 years of experience in the arts and entertainment fields and possesses a Bachelor of Arts in Technical Theater Design from Western Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Film Studies from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), in Savannah, Georgia. After graduating from Western, Sheila moved to Savannah and worked as the Programming Director for the Trustees Theater and the Savannah Film Festival, both owned and operated by SCAD, from 2002 to 2017.  She currently serves as the ad hoc programmer for the film festival in addition to her role as the Executive Director of the Sturges-Young Center for the Arts, a position she’s held since early 2019. She was a founding partner of Savannah Shakes, a non-profit community theater company that performed Shakespearean classics twice annually, and has directed numerous live stage productions throughout the years with her community theater company The Drama Bums. Sheila currently serves on the Sturgis Historical Society Board, The Downtown Development Authority Board, and the Michigan Presenters Board. She was also part of the 2019-2020 Michigan Arts and Culture Council Rising Leaders cohort.
