Date: February 17, 2023
Time: 7:00pm
Venue: Sturges-Young Center for the Arts
Usually, if a magician makes something disappear, the reappearance is assured within a short time. Almost inevitably after a few beats and maybe some laughs, the lost item shows up again in some magical way. What’s not typical is when those few beats turn into four years, with a pandemic pausing everything.
Nearly four years ago we had three fun shows and were going to have a fourth but then, well, you know. After the longest pause ever, we get to add the “Da!” to our “Ta!”. So we’re happy to be bringing back The Magic Hour to Sturges-Young Center for the Arts. Four magicians will join us February 17 at 7:00 PM for our first event. Award winning magician Joe Bennett from Paw Paw, second generation magician Amazing Mike Conklin from Constantine, another second generation magician Randy Vander Wal from Grand Rapids, and Patty the Special Human from wherever he’s from. It will be hosted once again, by me- magician BJ Mallen from Colon. You’ll share laughs and wonder with your whole family and at the end, be able to vote for your favorite act to return for the Finale in the Fall.
We’ve been cooped up and dealing with winter for a while, time to come out and warm up with some good times and good magic. The canteen will have snacks and drinks available as well. Thanks in part to the generosity of the Dale E. Gray Fund, through the Sturgis Area Community Foundation, tickets are just $8 for adults, and $5 for seniors and kids 12 and under. Get them online, by phone at (269) 651-8541, or in person at the Sturges-Young Center for the Arts.
